Model 5000 Portable Gas Purity System

Model 5000 Portable Gas Purity Monitoring System

The ASTG Model 5000 Portable Gas Purity Monitoring System provides continuous gas purity measurement based on the physical properties of the gases present. Purity is determined by measuring the speed of sound in a cylindrical resonant cell using acoustic transducers, with the gas temperature measured by thermistors inside the cavity. Concentration is calculated from the resonator characteristics and the thermodynamic properties of the gases present. This gives a concentration accuracy of ±0.01 to 0.1%, depending on the application and the gas species.

The Model 5000 carries data on nearly 500 gases, including CO₂, H₂, SF₆, N₂, Ar, He and O₂, accessible from a 7 inch touch screen or remotely over a digital interface. Users can add gases to the data table. ASTG has also integrated an optical oxygen sensor measuring from 0 to 1,000 ppm and an impedance moisture sensor measuring from 0.01 to 23,000 ppm.

The system carries a battery, data logging and control software, Modbus connectivity, and sample inlet and outlet ports, housed in a rugged wheeled transit case with an extendable handle. It is built for research, verification and testing across a range of environments.

The Model 5000 delivers cost-effective analysis with consistent performance and low maintenance. Its measurement technologies are highly stable, which reduces the need for frequent user calibration and supports long-term deployment. It brings laboratory measurement principles into field portability, for research and testing where a bench instrument cannot go.
