What you'll do
The work grows with the level. At every level it is hands-on, on the floor, and measured by whether the system holds.
Assembly and integration
- Assemble frames, panels and mechanical sub-systems to drawings and BOMs
- Install stainless steel tubing, fittings, regulators, valves and hardware
- Carry out precise alignment, torqueing and system integration
- Support light fabrication: cutting, drilling, tapping
Drawings and documentation
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs and 3D models
- Verify parts against the BOM before installation, and raise discrepancies rather than working around them
- Provide redline feedback to Engineering
Testing and troubleshooting
- Carry out visual inspection and pressure and leak testing
- Troubleshoot mechanical and tubing issues
- Validate system integrity and readiness for testing
Safety and workmanship
- Follow all PPE and safety requirements
- Keep workstations clean and handle material properly
- Protect assemblies from contamination or damage
At Technician II and Senior, additionally
- Work independently on complete mechanical builds, and on complex or custom systems at Senior level
- Act as the escalation point for mechanical issues
- Train and mentor Technician I and II colleagues, and set workmanship standards
- Drive first-pass quality, eliminate recurring issues, and feed design-for-manufacture improvements back to Engineering
What you'll bring
Technician I
- 0–2 years of experience, or relevant technical training
- Basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn drawings and tubing practices
Technician II
- 3–5+ years of mechanical assembly experience
- Strong experience with stainless tubing and fittings, and the ability to work independently
Senior Technician
- 5–8+ years of experience, expert in tubing systems and mechanical assembly
- Strong troubleshooting and leadership skills
Across all levels
- Experience with stainless steel tubing and compression fittings is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and torque tools
- An understanding of mechanical tolerances and alignment
